About Us

Our History

The late Francis and Kathryn Roberts founded the Roberts Funeral Home at 60 West Hunter Street in Logan, Ohio on July 3, 1936.  At that time, they had the unique privilege of being one of the few husband and wife teams operating a funeral home, with Kathryn Roberts being one of the first women in the state of Ohio to be a licensed funeral director.

As the years passed, Roberts Funeral Home has been consistently one of the first to offer the community new innovations in funeral home facilities such as: the use of an organ for services, installation of central air-conditioning in the funeral home, and the introduction of fully air-conditioned motor vehicles.  In the year 1959, the funeral home was completely redecorated.  In 1967 we provided a completely lighted off-street parking lot facility adjacent to the funeral home.

In 1973, the second generation of David L. and Thomas E. (Tim) Roberts assumed ownership of the funeral home, and with their wives operated the funeral home service, which today is in its seventy-fifth year of operation.  Thus, we are the only funeral home in Logan to be established, owned and operated by Logan natives.

In 1984, our funeral home chapel was added, making our facility the only purpose-built funeral chapel in the Community. Considerations such as cork covered cloth walls in both the front and rear of our chapel eliminate the need for easels and allow our families to display every aspect of their loved ones life without exception. With today's technological advances in audio and visual media, we are also able to provide a personalized, full service funeral, not by our standards, but by yours.
