Nedra Lee "Piff" Smith, Age 93
Logan, Ohio

Died Friday, November 14, 2008, in the Skilled Nursing Unit of Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan.

Born July 17, 1915, in Carbondale, Ohio
The daughter of the late Jesse D. and Grace (Doolittle) Smith

Nedra was a registered nurse having graduated from Grant Hospital School of Nursing, Columbus, Ohio in 1938.  Nedra was a First Lieutenant Army veteran of WW II, having been the Chief Nurse in the Ward Surgical Supply Unit and actively participated in Room Arno, North Apennines and Po Valley campaigns, where she received three bronze battle stars.

She had spent her nursing career and had retired from Mt. St. Mary Hospital in Nelsonville, Ohio.

Survivors:
    One niece................Linda Kay (Wayne) Well---------------San Angelo, Texas

    One nephew..............Wesley M. (Rose Mary) Hutchins----Thornville, Ohio

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Roy W. Smith and three sisters, Edna Bols, Lois Anderson and Grace Lorraine "Cop" Hutchins.

No calling hours will be observed at the funeral home.
Private burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Starr Township, Hocking County, Ohio.
Arrangements are by the Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
