Loris Adele Davidson, 82, Logan, died Friday, November 28, 2008, at home.
Born August 18, 1926, in Indianapolis,
Indiana, the daughter of the late Frances Adele (Lester) and Hartman John Miller Jr. Loris married the late Max D. Davidson
(2-4-2004) in a "Miami Merger" in 1948 following her college graduation.
Mrs. Davidson was an active member
of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Logan since arriving with her family in 1960. She served as lay reader and Senior
Warden of the congregation for many years.
Joining her husband in enthusiastically supporting education, Loris
served in leadership roles in Brighten Your Future and the Logan Holl Foundation. Recently, Mrs. Davidson was recognized
with her husband and George and Lucy Shaw for providing the seventy-two acre property on which the new Logan High School was
built. More recently, Mrs. Davidson extended her educational support to a renewal campaign at the Piqua Public Library.
Loris Davidson and her husband founded the Jillian Davidson Memorial Scholarship for nursing students at Hocking College
in memory of her late granddaughter who preceded her (2000).
Surviving are four sons; Mark (Vicki) Davidson of Columbus,
Brian (Cecilia) Davidson of Lancaster, Craig (Cindy) Davidson of Plant City, Florida and Todd (Stephanie) Davidson of Albany,
Ohio; a daughter Lianne (Jeff) Dickerson of Logan; nine grandchildren, Ashley Schexnider and Brianne Davidson; Matthew, Blaine
and Andrew Davidson; Lindsay, Lauren, Meghan and Kayla Dickerson; two great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and five
step great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Davidson was also preceded in death by her brother David J. Miller of Kansas City.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 pm Monday, December 1, 2008, at the Roberts Funeral Home, Logan.
A private service
will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Deacon William McCleery and Rev. William Pursley, officiating.
Burial will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good-Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio.
