James Edward Wood, age 79 of Nelsonville, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in the emergency room of Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan. Born July 26, 1929, in Bristol, Virginia, son of the late James Franklin and Tiney Jean (Mann) Wood. Mr. Wood was a retired assemblyman with the Ford Motor Co., Walton Hill, Ohio.
    Surviving Mr. Wood are: wife Myrtle Lee (Jessee) Wood of Logan, Ohio; three daughters Patsy L. Youngblood of Nelsonville, Ohio, Sandy L. Geib of Nelsonville, Ohio, and Debra K. Pritchett of Amarillo, Texas. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Ross and Monty Ray Wood; and an infant daughter, Bernadette Wood.
    A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2009, in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio, with Rev. Ricci R. Arthur, officiating.
