Glendon Dale Helber, age 82

Logan, Ohio

Passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009 in Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio after an extended illness.  He was born April 21, 1926 in Logan, Ohio.  Son of the late Abel Andrew and Jessie Ellen (Wright) Helber. 

Mr. Helber was a former owner and operator of Helber's Chain Saw Sales in Logan, Ohio; he was also a U.S. Army WWII Veteran having served in both the Infantry and U.S. Army Air Corps in the Southern Philippines. 

He is survived by: his wife Loretta Mae (Shaw) Helber of Logan, Ohio; one son Kelly G. Helber of Logan, Ohio; three daughters Brenda G. Sharb of Logan, Ohio, Loraine M. Helber of Port Charlotte, Florida, and E. Michele (Charles) Windham of Southport, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren Kevin (Tammy) Sharb of Lancaster, Ohio, Silica Hedges of Columbus, Ohio, Derek Hedges of Logan, Ohio, Brianna (Scott) Hall of Conway, South Carolina, Brandi Bodkins of Springfield, Ohio, Ryan Bodkins of Springfield, Ohio, Mikel (Ross) MacAuley of Hudson, New Hampshire, Keary Helber of Logan, Ohio, and Sara, Erin, Jacob Mullins all of Logan, Ohio; 6 great-grandchildren; one brother Allan Andrew (Mary Lou) Helber of Sugar Grove, Ohio; and four sisters-in-law Regina Helber of Columbus, Ohio and Freda M. Helber, Helen Hilton, and Pauline Campbell all of Logan, Ohio. 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Irma and Harold Walke; and three brothers Richard, Russell, and Roscoe Helber. 

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 in Faith Chapel Church, 10087 Frasure-Helber Road, Logan, Ohio, with Rev. Betty J. Brooks officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Marion Township, Hocking County, Ohio where the Hocking County Honor Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
