Robert Dannie Smitley Sr., age 50, of Logan, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born May 2, 1958 in Pomeroy, Ohio he was the son of the late Robert Aumor and Mildred Trudy (McClanahan) Smitley.
Mr. Smitley had worked as a self-employed auto detailer.
He is survived by wife Nancy Elizabeth (Allberry) Smitley of Logan, Ohio; two sons David A. (Samatha) Devore of Lancaster, Ohio and Robert D. Smitley Jr. of Logan, Ohio; one sister Annette Secoy of Athens, Ohio; one brother, Roger (Carol) Shiltz of West Virginia; two grandchildren, Tristan & Xavier Devore, both of Lancaster, Ohio.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Frank & Earl Shiltz and one sister Linda Sue Henson.
No funeral service will be observed.
Friends may call Friday, April 24, 2009 from 5-8 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the funeral home to help defer funeral expenses.
