Nancy Ellen Wharton, age 87 of Logan, Ohio passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 after an extended illness in Logan Health Care Center, Logan, Ohio.

Born February 2, 1922 in Athens, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James Vanderbilt and Lena Mae (Tryon) Jones.

Mrs. Wharton was a homemaker for her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Lee "Sandy" Thomas of Logan; three grandchildren, Lloyd Dominic (Kalia) Thomas of San Diego, California, Matthew B. Thomas of Logan, Sara (Justin) Stewart of Nelsonville, Ohio; one great-grandson, Toby Lloyd Stewart of Nelsonville, Ohio.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Clinton "Doc" Wharton- 2001

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Roberts Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth A. Kidd officiating.

Friends may call today from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to one's favorite charity of choice.
