John Robert "Bob" West age, 85, of Logan, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at  the Pickering House Hospice Facility, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born April 1, 1924 in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Hubert Jefferson and Lena Iva (Henry) West.

Mr. West was a construction worker, and a U.S. Army WW II veteran. Bob enjoyed Ballroom Dancing and playing Santa Claus for his children and the community.

He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Ann Pinson and Alice Marie (West) Rose both of Logan, Ohio; two brothers Jack K. West of St. Petersburg, Florida and Don L. West of Zephyr Hills, Florida; four sisters Mildred Rice and Sandy West, both of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mary Griffin of Logan, Ohio and Phyllis Lemke of Lancaster, Ohio; two grandchildren, Curtis E. (Mindy) Rose and Tammy M. (Greg) Howe both of Logan, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren; Alex, Abby, Keegan and Kive Rose, Jordan Spicer, Patrick and Kacie Howe, all of Logan, Ohio; special friend John McAfee of Logan, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Valentina Josephine (Rodriguez) West (1989);  brother, James West; two sisters Martha Williams and Waveline Westhoven and two sons-in-law, Dennis Rose and Don Pinson.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Reverend Vernon L. Barrell officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan Ohio where the Hocking County Honor Guard will give Military Honors.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
