Marie M. Jewell Earnhart, age 95
of Logan Health Care Center, Logan, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Hocking Valley Community
Hospital, in Logan, Ohio
Born July 16, 1914 in Paulding Ohio, she was the daughter of the late
Calvin Breneman and Anna Pomp.
Marie was a homemaker, and very active in her community
of Glouster, Ohio, where she was a band booster, the organist at the Oak Dale Church of Christ, a girl scout leader for her
daughters' troops in the late 50's and early 60's, a correspondent for the Athens Messenger in the 1960's, and the proprietor
of Jewell's Restaurant in the 50's. She and Louis touched the lives of many of Carol and Terri's classmates at Glouster
Exempted Village School.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Jewell Geiger of Nashville,
TN, and Terri (Jim) Woltz of Shawnee, OH; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grand children, and one brother Richard Breneman.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Louis Jewell (1972) and Howard Earnhart
(1996), a great grand daughter Maggie Woltz (2004), her sister Vera Leonard, and brother Robert Breneman.
A memorial service is being planned for this spring when she will be laid to rest with Louis Jewell at the Maplewood
Cemetery, Bishopville, Ohio.
