Ann Rodney Cushing

Ann Rodney Cushing, aged 86 of Logan, Ohio, formerly of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away at Hocking Valley Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Born November 2, 1939 in Glenville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Mary G. (Garrett) Lorentz.

During life, Ann worked as a librarian at Parkersburg-Wood County Library for many years after graduating from Glenville State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science. Ann loved doing book sales, playing bridge, and spending time with her friends.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Janet (Bill) Harwood; son, Jim Cushing; brother, William (Suzy) Lorentz; nieces, Pam Lorentz, Lisa (Charles) Smith, and Chad (Molly) Lorentz; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Cushing.

A memorial service for Ann will be held at a later date.
