Barbara (Clark) Goss

Barbara (Clark) Goss, 77, of Rockbridge, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Crestview Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing.

Barbara was a devoted and loving wife, mom, and grandma. She was born on August 16, 1944 in Lancaster to Elmer and Florence Clark. She was a graduate of Berne Union High School. On August 13, 1964, Barbara married Harley E. Goss of Rockbridge. She was a member of Rockbridge United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, long-time church Treasurer, and active in the Women’s Society.

A 1965 graduate of Riverside White Cross School of Nursing, she worked at the Logan Clinic, but spent the majority of her career working for Drs. Roy Bontrager and David Cummins as their Registered Nurse and later, in the office doing insurance certification and scheduling.   Barbara was a proud nurse, and the Appalachian Ohio Nurse Honor Guard will be a special acknowledgement of her dedication to the field.  

Barbara is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Harley E. Goss; children, Johanna (Thomas) Pearce of Lancaster; Dwight (Rhonda) Goss of Chardon; Holly Goss (George Medley) of St. Albans, WV; and Keith (Bethann) Goss of Springboro, PA. Additionally, she is survived by grandchildren, Keely Pearce; Haley (Ally Anderson) Pearce; Katie (D.J. Schroeder) Pearce; and Alaina Goss. Barbara is also survived by her sisters, Martha Bushee of Sugar Grove and Wanda Oliver of Newark. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Elmer Clark of Sugar Grove, and brothers-in-law, Leonard Bushee and General Grant Oliver II.

The funeral service for Barbara will be at Roberts Funeral Home, 60 West Hunter Street, Logan, Ohio, 43138 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend John Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in Whippoorwill Cemetery, Good Hope Township. Family and friends may visit from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday, April 22.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to Rockbridge United Methodist Church, 10567 Jackson Street in Rockbridge, OH 43149; or Fairhope Hospice & Palliative Care, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43130.  The family wishes to thank the staff of Crestview, Fairhope Hospice, and Dr. William Wilmer, for their care and concern throughout Barbara’s lengthy illness.
