Betty Fairmen Imel-Shafer

Betty Fairmen Imel-Shaffer, aged 99 of Logan, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2025. She was born on September 17, 1926, in Rhode Island, and lived a long and faith-filled life devoted to God, her family, and her friends.

A devout Christian, Betty’s faith guided every part of her life. She loved the Lord deeply, and found joy in her family, friends, and the simple blessings each day brought. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her loving son Robert Imel and his wife Mary (Maurice); her grandson, Erik Imel, his wife Susan (Stephens), and their children Caleb and Maura; and her granddaughter, Angela Schetter and her children Lillian and Liam.

Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Hayes Imel, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Janice Flinton, Charlotte Rodric, and Ruth Bowers.

Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband Harry in the family plot in Urbana, Ohio. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio at 10 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, Betty’s family suggests donations may be made to the Activities Director of Embassy of Logan, 300 Arlington Avenue, Logan, OH 43138, or Shrivers Hospice, 2052 E. Pike, Zanesville, OH 43701.
