Bruce Alan Dearing, aged 78 of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio.
Born March 11, 1946 in Dearborn, Michigan, he was the son of the late Walter and Alice (Martin) Dearing.
Bruce was a U.S. Navy Veteran that served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Good Builders of Logan as a heavy equipment operator. Bruce enjoyed working on his tractors and took great pride in taking care of his land.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Kay Dearing; son, Brett A. (Hazel) Dearing of Logan, Ohio; daughter, Laura B. (Mike) McAnallen of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchild, Sarah Dearing; step-grandchildren, Chris McAnallen, Mackenzie (Chase) Japp, Isabella McAnallen, and Sam McAnallen; great-grandchildren, Addie Dearing and Jayden Lavelle; and three nieces, Tracie Dearing of Logan, Erin (Ted) Lewis of Moses Lake, Washington and Kelly (Bob) Lewis of Vancouver, Washington.
Besides his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter Dearing Jr. and Merle Dearing; and sister, Suzie Dearing.
Due to weather conditions a memorial service will be held, in addition to a military service conducted by the Nelsonville Honor Guard, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Nelsonville Wesleyan Church, 600 Chestnut Street, Nelsonville, Ohio, officiated by Pastor Andrew Stine.
