Cheryl Darlene Basenback, aged 75 of Logan, Ohio, passed away at home on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
Born December 21, 1948 in Lancaster, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Theodore and Mable Ilene (Wagner) Eck.
Cheryl worked as a corrections officer before retiring from Hocking County Correctional Facility. She had a great love for gardening and German Shepherds.
Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Charlene Ann (Kermit) Berry of Logan, Ohio, Christina (Scott) Grimes of Scio, Oregon, Jerri (David) Meeks of Syracuse, Ohio, and Cherokiee (Jeff) Mohler of Lancaster, Ohio; son, Wilbur Thomas (Shelley) Dexter of Newark, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sisters, Delores “Dee” (Terry) Dupler of Michigan and Janie (Keith) Nicolia of Ohio.
Besides her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, James Basenback; her grandson, Brice Mitchel Berry; and her sisters, Norma Clark, Kay Mowery, Janetta Nicolia, and Barbie Masters.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor Charlie Mansfield will be held at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio at 1 PM on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good-Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, Cheryl’s family suggests donations in her memory may be made to the Brice Berry Memorial Scholarship, 2019 East Front Street, Logan, Ohio.
