Dennis Wayne Baker, age 70 of Logan, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his residence.
Born December 14, 1947 in Logan, he was the son of the late Carlton Leon “Bake” Baker and Norma Joan “Joanne” (Wittekind) Baker-Eyerman.
Dennis retired as a lineman from the former Defense Construction Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was a United States Navy veteran having served on the USS Mansfield during the Vietnam Era. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and fishing with his son.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Cindy Kay (McManaway) Baker; one daughter, Denise M. (James) Frasure Jr. of Logan; three sons, Dennis D. (Heather L.) Baker of Nelsonville, Ohio, Corey J. (Diana L.) Whalen of Lancaster, Ohio, and Kevin A. (Cindy M.) Whalen of Logan; two sisters, Deborah L. (Daniel “Tim”) Saunders of Rockbridge, Ohio and Cynthia L. (Rick) McClain of Jefferson, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, Cassandra, Jordan, and Jenna Frasure, Lexie and Lee Lee Baker, Emily, Matthew, and Benjamin Whalen, Lane and Zane Farley, Seth and Kelci Leasure, and Silas Newsome; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by one daughter, Jana Baker; one sister, Carla L. Carlton; and stepfather James Richard Eyerman.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Roberts Funeral Home-Logan, Ohio with Reverend Charles E. Fidler officiating.
A military Service by the Hocking County Honor Guard will be held at the funeral home following the service.
Friends may call at Roberts Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018.
