Dennis Leon Hiles, aged 78 of Logan, Ohio, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Born September 21, 1947 in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Edward Leon and Opal Lillian (Biggs) Hiles.
During life, Dennis worked as a mechanic before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and ability to fix just about anything put in front of him. Beyond the garage, he had a true love for the open road and greatly enjoyed riding motorcycles with Rose, often finding freedom and joy in the rumble of two wheels beneath them. Dennis also found his greatest happiness in the simple moments with family – whether it was sharing a meal, telling stories, or watching his grandchildren grow. His sharp humor, stubborn streak, and larger-than-life personality left an impression on everyone who knew him.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Rose Ann (Williams) Hiles; daughters, Denise R. (Sheldon) Blackstone and Danielle R. (Chad) Disbennett; grandchildren, Emily Blackstone, Raymon Blackstone, Danica Disbennett, and Cooper Disbennett; one great-grandson on-the-way; sister, Sherry Blosser; brother, David Hiles; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Ann Hiles; sisters, Margie Sheets, Bonnie Sheets, Shirley Hinerman, and Judy Horn; and brothers, Jack Dixon and Vernon Dixon.
A funeral service officiated by Steve Good and Stan Weaver will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio at 1 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan, Ohio.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
