Don Elsworth Stimmel

Don Elsworth Stimmel, age 70 of New Straitsville, Ohio, formally of Maxville, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his residence.

Born July 31, 1951 in Lancaster, Ohio, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Frances L. (Kishler) Stimmel.

Don had worked for the former Roy G. Gordon Co. Oilfield Services and Stimmel Construction. He retired from Fabricated Packaging Materials Inc. in Lancaster, Ohio. Don was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Don’s biggest joy in life were his children.  He had three biological children but considered their spouses as his children as well. 

Don is survived by his loving wife, Debra Louise (Miller) Stimmel; one son, Shane (Kristen) Stimmel of Logan, Ohio; two daughters, Amy (Jason) Keith of Lancaster, Ohio and Vicki (Jake) Rafferty of Logan; seven grandchildren, Lillian, Lydia, and Parker Stimmel, Jaylen Wilson, Trinity, Mason, and Andrew Rafferty; two brothers, Hal (Helen) Stimmel and James (Sharon) Stimmel – both of Logan; and four sisters, Patty (Gerald) Edgar of Logan, Carol (Robert) Henderson of Rushville, Ohio, Mary (John) Randall of Logan, and Jennifer (Greg) Godby also of Logan; sister-in-law, Carma Stimmel of Logan; sister-in-law Nancy Miller of Lancaster; brother-in-law David Miller of Lancaster; and brother-in-law, Larry Mosure of Logan.

Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by one brother, Elvin Douglas Stimmel; and two sisters, Charlotte Stimmel and Ruth “Beverly” Mosure.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 6935 Township Road 234, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Stephen R. Hubbard officiating.

A private family burial will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery, Monday-Creek Township, Perry County, Ohio.
