Donald “Bud” Larry Johnson, age 83 of Logan, Ohio went to be with the Lord July 31, 2021 at Grant Medical Center.
He was born on March 24, 1938 in Carbon Hill, Ohio. Don was married to Wanda Sue (Wright) Johnson for 59 years and 11 months. Early in their marriage he served in the United States Army in Texas.
Don’s career was that of a hardworking and disciplined man. He successfully owned and operated Johnson Logging Company and Fancy Plants Greenhouse. Cattle farming and a long employment at Carborundum Grinding Wheel Company were also part of his heavy workload.
Don’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, and traveling. He was also a member of the Church of God.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Saul “Sol” and Grace Marie (Evans) Johnson; brothers Valley and Tom Johnson; and sisters Joy Johnson-Herr and Betty Lou Johnson-Wilson.
Besides his loving wife Sue, Don is survived by one son, Jerry Don (Mary) Johnson of Lancaster, Ohio; one daughter, Julie S. Johnson of Logan; grandchildren Noah Johnson, Jacob and Alexis Hemsworth, and Cash Johnson; great-granddaughter, Olivia Hemsworth; sister-in-law Ruth Johnson; and his beloved dog, Gracie.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio with Carlton Schooley & Don Reynolds officiating.
Burial will follow at New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good-Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio where a military service will take place by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
