Donald Leroy Johnson

Donald Leroy Johnson aged 80 of Logan, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio, following a prolonged illness.

Born April 20, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert Francis and Clara Marie (Hartman) Johnson.

Donald was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from Lennox Heating & Cooling in Columbus, Ohio and Marshalltown, Iowa after 28 years of service as a group leader. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS and former member of Moose and Eagles lodges. Donald’s hobbies included woodworking and being a fan of all sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Kathleen Ruth (Wilson) Johnson; five sons, Michael (Carrie) Heirs, Timothy (Debra) Lehman, David (Manza) Johnson, Paul (Yvonne) Johnson, and Kevin Johnson; two daughters, Debra Velasquez and Sheri Espinoza; 21 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandy (Larry) Minturn and Judy Lucas; and two brothers, Robert Johnson and Fredrick (Susan) Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Roberts Funeral Home- Logan, officiated by Rev. Charles E. Fidler.

Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens- Good Hope Twp., Hocking Co., Ohio with a military service conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 12:00 PM until time of service.
