Donald Larry Wilson, age 81 of Logan, Ohio passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan.
Born February 26, 1940 in New Lexington, Ohio, he was the son of the late Warren Romaine and Velma Odessa (Hammers) Wilson.
Donald was a 1958 graduate of New Lexington High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam as an engineer. Donald retired from the Post Office in Columbus, Ohio in 1992. He was a former 30 year member of the Church of God in Logan, where he was a bible schoolteacher and held bible study for the elderly at local nursing homes. Donald enjoyed years of vacationing with his family, fishing, watching westerns and home movies, and collecting superhero figurines. Always the joker, he was a kid at heart and a cowboy or superhero in his mind. Most of all, Donald loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. To them, he was a superhero!
Donald is survived by one daughter, Kelley Jo (Sean) McGhee of Logan; two sons, Keith Jeffery “Jeff” Wilson of Logan and Gregory Lawrence Wilson of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Amanda (Ron) Poe and their sons Derek and Davian; Samantha Wilson; Cody (Stephanie) McGhee; Billy McGhee and daughters Alyssa, Amy, and Harper; and Cody Roberts (Ryan Robinson) and their children, Aidan and A’Riya; and sister-in-law, Nellie (Robert) Ranier of Fishers, Indiana.
Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Doris (Saunders) Wilson; brothers, Gerald and Kenneth Wilson; and sisters, Frieda Raines, Orleta Miller, Dorothy Pennington, and Wanda Wilson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 5th, 2021 at Roberts Funeral Home- Logan with Michael O’Hara officiating.
Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good-Hope Twp., Hocking County, Ohio where a military service will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM, Thursday, November 4th, 2021 at the funeral home.
