Donna Marie Acklin

Donna Marie Acklin, age 87 of Lakeville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in care of Hospice of Central Ohio in Columbus, Ohio.

Born October 24, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Archie and Rosie (Smith) Spillman.

Donna had worked in retail. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary at Buckeye Lake, Ohio and a lifetime member of Melbourne Baptist Church in Florida. Donna enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching cows cross the road and truly enjoyed family gatherings at the lake.

She is survived by two sons, Kennet and Terry Barney; two daughters, Dorothy Louise Brown of Lakeville, Ohio and Patsy Gretler; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Darold and David Spillman; and one sister, Doris Riffle.

Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford William Barney (1973); her second husband, Richard C. Acklin (2019); and two sons, Lee Eugene Barney and Bruce Underwood.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio with Joshua Nowell Martin officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan, Ohio.

Friends may call from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home.
