Gregory Dane Lightfoot

Gregory Dane “Greg” Lightfoot, aged 72 of Logan, Ohio, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 following an extended illness.

Born September 29, 1952 in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Donald D. and Leora Jean (Foreman) Lightfoot.

Greg was a 1971 graduate of Logan High School and was a veteran of the United States Army where he was a member of the 1st Cav. Army Band and the President’s All Military Band based out of Norfolk, Virginia. Greg loved to play music and was involved in several local bands. He also loved to paint under the artist name of “Bear Paintings”.

Greg is survived by two daughters, Angella Lightfoot (Joel) Naasko of Circleville, Ohio and Nina Lightfoot of Flint, Michigan; three brothers, Anthony M. (Adele) Lightfoot, Phillip (Patty) Lightfoot, and Brad (Lorraine) Lightfoot; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mona Melher; son, Samuel Dane Lightfoot; brother, Donald Eugene Lightfoot; sister, Lisa Lightfoot Burnside; grandparents, Wilbur and Claire Lightfoot; and several aunts and uncles.

A private military graveside service by the Hocking County Honor Guard will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan, Ohio at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the Lightfoot family suggests donations in Greg’s memory may be made to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43130.
