Ida Inola (Rutherford) Moorehead

Ida Inola Moorehead, aged 99 of Madison, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Limestone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Athens, Alabama.  

Born August 9, 1923 in Lancaster, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Nyle Herbert and Esta Lenora (Wells) Rutherford and stepfather, George Stallsmith.

Ida was formally a clerk for the Hocking County Treasurer’s Office. She and her beloved husband, Jack Norton Moorehead, celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary on December 24, 2022.

In addition to her husband, Ida is survived by two sons, Timothy Ivan (Nancy) Moorehead of Frisco, Texas and Dr. Michael Thomas (Lisa) Moorehead of Madison, Alabama; one daughter, Marcia Ann Gierhart of Logan, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.

Besides her parents, Ida was preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Johnson and Elnora Rectenwaldt; and one brother, John W. Stallsmith.

A Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio with Joshua N. Martin officiating.

Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
