Jack Norton Moorehead, aged 100 of Madison, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Limestone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Athens, Alabama.
Born January 30, 1923 in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ralph Wolfe and Janet Charlotte “Lottie” (Tignor) Moorehead.
Jack served in the U.S. Army during WWII and had worked in sales for Ferd Hack Auto Supply and Smead Manufacturing in Logan. He served three terms as Mayor of Logan and was owner and operator of Jack Moorehead Auto Parts. Jack was a former member of the Logan Kiwanis Club and Mingo Lodge #171. He was a volunteer for the Logan Fire Department and honored with the Citizens Award.
Jack is survived by two sons, Timothy Ivan (Nancy) Moorehead of Frisco, Texas and Dr. Michael Thomas (Lisa) Moorehead of Madison, Alabama; one daughter, Marcia Ann Gierhart of Logan, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.
Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 80 years, Ida Inola “Nolie” (Rutherford) Moorehead (2023) and his brother, Ralph Owen Moorehead.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio with Joshua N. Martin officiating.
Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio, where a military service will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
