James Alan Downs

James “Jim” Alan Downs, age 65 of Logan, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio.

Born March 5, 1956 in Athens, Ohio, he was the son of the late James Ray and Donna Jean (Kennard) Downs.

Jim had worked as a meat cutter for Kroger, retiring after 32 years of service. Jim loved to go fishing and camping but most of all enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.

James is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Lou (Jamison) Downs; one daughter, Amanda Lynn (Christopher) Davis of Logan; three sons, Edwin Wayne (Terra) Downs of Logan, Shawn Anthony (Brandi) Downs of Westerville, Ohio, and James Porter (Leslie) Downs of Logan; four brothers, Pastor Donald Downs, Ed Downs, Barry Downs, and John Downs; one sister, Theresa Downs; eight grandchildren; and two Goddaughters, Angel (Jay) Mathias and Abigail Payne.

A private graveside service will be held at Knollwood Cemetery, Falls Township, Hocking County, Ohio with his brother, Pastor Donald E. Downs officiating.
