James Bryan Moore

James Bryan “Jim” Moore, 89 of Logan, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 at The Pickering House surrounded by his family.

Born October 31, 1929 in Haydenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Phillip Andrew and Matilda Marie (Poetker) Moore.

Jim was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a machinist for General Electric, where he retired in 1989. Jim was previously a member of the Logan Hocking and Tri-County Career Center School Boards. He was also a former troop leader in the Boy Scouts of America. Jim was an avid Logan Marching Chieftains and sports fan. Most of all, he embraced the time spent with his loving family and friends.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marjorie Ruth (Kline) Moore; one son, James M. (Wendy) Moore of Logan; five daughters, Deanna Moore of Logan, Lisa (Bruce) Umbleby of Goodyear, Arizona, Lori (Steve) Hoffman of Logan, Jamie (Greg) Wilkins of Lancaster, Ohio, and Jill (Wade) Davis of Logan; one sister, Kathryn (Gideon) Sharb of Logan; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by three infant sons, John Phillip, Lane Edward, and Bryan Lee; five brothers, Lewis, Victor, Charles, William, and Roger; and two sisters, Nancy Smith and Beulah Vollmer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Roberts Funeral Home – Logan, Ohio with Reverend Clarence Thompson and Pastor Dave Sherman officiating.

Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery- Green Township, Hocking County, Ohio where a Military Service will be held by the Hocking County Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday and 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home Thursday.
