Obituary
James Robert “Jim Bob” Richards Jr., aged 71, of Logan, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his residence.
Born November 30, 1951 in Nelsonville, Ohio, he was the son of the late James Robert and Patricia Ellen (Mount) Richards Sr.
Jim Bob was an Air Force Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. He retired as a safety coordinator for The Fishel Company in Columbus, Ohio. Jim Bob was a lifetime member of the Amvets Post 1776 of Logan, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Martha “Kay” (Howdyshell) Richards; three sons, Scott E. (Michelle) Whalen and Timothy J. Whalen both of Logan and Eric George of Ada, Ohio; one daughter, Sarah E. (Phillip) Bartlett of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Steven) Tipton, Emilee and Abriella Whalen, Joshua (Cynthia) Ogg, Charley E., Will, and Luke Bartlett, Shalen and Brenna George; fifteen great-grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Cooper, Kinzlee, and Ridge Tipton, Kaelyn and Lane Ogg, Bentlee Vaughn, Briella, Orion, Sophia, Gwen and Elizabeth Ogg, Avy and Addy George. and one sister, Jody (Mark) Taulbee of Logan, Ohio.
Besides his parents, Jim Bob was preceded in death by one grandson, Brandon Ogg; mother and father-in-law, Roy A. and Helen M. Howdyshell, and one brother.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Bremen, Ohio.
