Born August 9, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Thomas and Mildred Lenore (Young) Roberts.
Jane was a former clerk for Columbus Public Library, as well as working for the Diocese of Columbus for 15 years and the Columbus Zoo for 5 years. She was a Fall of 2007 graduate of the Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography. Jane was also a self-published author, having written Pebble: Adventures of a Drone, Pebble 2: To Look for a Star, and The Tyrea Series: A King Ascends.
Jane is survived by her husband, Richard Paul McKay of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Malinda Marie Mowrey of Granville, Ohio; son, Nicholas Paul (Amy) McKay of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Riley Mowrey, Davy Mowrey, and Mara McKay; sisters, Yancey Ann (James “Zeke”) Zimmer of Worthington, Ohio, and Mary Margaret (Roger) Pry of Groveport, Ohio; and sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Roberts of Columbus, Ohio, Kathleen “Kay” Irene Roberts of Naples, Florida, and Nancy Ann Carney of Bexley, Ohio.
Besides her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Justin Mowrey; and her brothers, Richard Yance Roberts, Raymond Thomas Roberts Jr., and James William Roberts.
A graveside celebration of life will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11 AM officiated by Deacon Roger Pry followed by inurnment. Informal seasonal attire is recommended.
