Janice Kay Boals

Janice Kay Boals, aged 64 of Logan, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan.  

Born May 10, 1958 in Jackson, Ohio, she was the daughter of Phyllis Kay (Davis) and stepfather, Larry Osborne, Rex Henry and her late stepfather, Carl Ivan Thomas.

Janice previously worked for Walmart and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she was very active, including Operation Christmas Child. She liked to knit, craft, and crochet hats for family members. Janice was known to have a giving, caring, heart of gold. She loved animals and spending time with her family, as her grandkids were her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Jerry Sheldon Boals; one son, Joshua (Kelly) River of Chillicothe, Ohio; one daughter, Stephanie River; one stepdaughter, Shelbee Wagener of Logan; three grandchildren, Joey, Joselyn and Julian; one sister, Julie (Nathan Casteel) Thomas of Wellston, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Roberts Funeral Home- Logan, with Pr. Stephen R. Hubbard officiating.

Burial will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery- Monday Creek Twp., Perry Co., Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
