Jennifer Lynn Mohney, aged 45 of Logan, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio.
Born May 28, 1979 in Logan, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert Steven Schmitzer and Mary Neysa (Fritter) Schmitzer.
During life, Jennifer worked laying hardwood flooring for D.A. Robers and Associates. She was a member of St. John Church in Logan, Ohio. Jennifer was known for lighting up any room she walked into with her positivity and adventurous spirit. A nature lover, Jennifer greatly enjoyed hiking, backpacking, and animal rescue. She was a huge music fan, especially Matchbox Twenty and Rob Thomas. Most of all, Jennifer loved being a mom, helping to get her daughters ready for the day. She will be dearly missed.
Besides her mother, Jennifer is survived by her daughters, Callie Marie Mohney and Elizabeth Nicole McBride, both of Logan, Ohio; five sisters, Carrie (Brandon) Hartley of Vandalia, Ohio, Stephanie (Charles) Mansfield of Lancaster, Ohio, Beth Schmitzer of Logan, Ohio, Katie (Ben) Avery of Logan, Ohio, and Jessie (Tashia Zamarron) Schmitzer of Kettering, Ohio; three brothers, William (Ann) Schmitzer of St. Paul, Minnesota, Brother Adam Schmitzer of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Greg (Erika) Schmitzer of Logan, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass officiated by Father Jean Luc Zadroga will be held at St. John Catholic Church in Logan, Ohio at 11 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, January 31, 2025, followed by a Christian vigil service from Deacon Donald A. Robers, and from 10-10:45 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio. Jennifer’s family suggests wearing green to her services, as it was her favorite color and matched her eyes.
In lieu of flowers, Jennifer’s family suggests donations be made to Roberts Funeral Home in order to assist her daughters in life.
