Jerry Joseph McCrady, age 78 of Savannah, Missouri, formerly of the Lancaster, Ohio area, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021. He was born to the late Charles and Frances (Murray) McCrady on March 10, 1943.
Jerry was a 1961 graduate of Berne Union High School, where he played football for the Mid-State league champions. He then went on to continue his education at Eastern State University. Jerry worked many years at Owens Corning as an electrician. Anyone who knew Jerry knew that he had the ability to fix everything. He was often seen tinkering on something with his pipe hanging out of his mouth. He was known to help many local restaurants as well as family and friends whenever they needed something fixed. In his younger years he enjoyed DJing and singing. He shared his gift of music by being the choir director at Saint Joseph’s Catholic church in Sugar Grove, Ohio for many years. Jerry had quite a sense of humor and was always able to make you laugh. His smile and laugh were contagious.
He is survived by three children, Michael McCrady (Susan), Michele Moyer (Todd), Marti Anderson (Jim); six grandchildren, Brent Moyer, Colin Moyer, Sheri Sheridan, Maryellen Scanlan, Sean McCrady and Patrick McCrady; two sisters, Rose Ann Hintz (Lou) and Carolyn Rice (Ed); one brother, Don McCrady (Joyce); two sisters-in-law, Joyce McCrady and Virginia McCrady; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry is also survived by special friends Anne Davies and Joan Davies, as well as many friends in Missouri.
Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his twin brother, Terry McCrady; brother, Ronald McCrady; and a great grandson.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 10, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sugar Grove, Ohio, celebrated by Father James Walter.
Inurnment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery- Lancaster, Ohio.
A Celebration of Life will be held for friends in Missouri at a later date.
