Jo Ann Courter

Jo Ann Courter, age 91, of Logan, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jo Ann was born August 18, 1930 in Bakerstown, Pennsylvania, to the late Clyde Leroy and Mary Idella Heckert.

Besides her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Ralph F. Courter.

God gifted Jo Ann with so much joy and love for her family, friends, church, and her community. She never encountered a stranger; her door was always open to anyone in need. Known by her sweet smile and small statute, she was loved by many.

Jo Ann is survived by one son, Scott Courter of Logan; one daughter, Jan (Tom) Rauch of Logan; three grandchildren, Sharra (Michael) Turner, Krista (Jeremy) Courter, and Bryon Rauch; seven great-grandchildren, Nate, Noah, and Nick Rauch, Ty Turner, and Kylee, Jenna, and Jacob Daubenmire; special friends Ralph and Barbara Riddlebarger; special sister-in-law Dorothy Courter; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Jo Ann was a homemaker and had been the bookkeeper for the family business. She was a life member of the Methodist Faith and a member of the Hocking Hills United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Roberts Funeral Home – Logan, Ohio with Reverend Charlene R. Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions may be made in Jo Ann’s memory to Hocking Hills United Methodist Church Building Fund c/o 66 East Hunter Street, Logan, Ohio 43138.
