John Christopher Hughes

John Christopher Hughes, aged 64 of Logan, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at home in Logan, Ohio.

Born October 22, 1958 in Royal Oak, Michigan, he was the son of the late John Forrest and Suzanne Helen (Kull) Hughes.

John was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Mediterranean Sea as well as the Persian Gulf War. Following retirement, he worked as a manager at Sherwin-Williams in Lancaster, Ohio. He was a skilled craftsman with a great love for the outdoors, enjoying gardening and grilling. John graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and an Associate’s Degree in the arts from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

John is survived by his wife, Andrea Mara Pavelich-Hughes; brother, Rob (Jennifer) Hughes of Burbank, California; sisters, Carrie (Bob) Richards of Houghton, Michigan, Sarah (Bob) Ek of Howard City, Michigan, and Polly (Pete) Peltier of Ferndale, Michigan; brother-in-law, Brent (Donna) Pavelich; sister-in-law, Kirsten (Bruno Lacaria) Pavelich; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Phoebe, Lily, Lauren, Callen, Helen, Chris, Maddie, Will, Shane, Jon, Caitlyn, Makenna, Aliyah, and Maya.  

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his father-in-law and best buddy, Ron Pavelich.

Per John’s request, no services will be observed at this time.
