Lela Mae Spence, age 83 of Logan, Ohio passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Embassy Healthcare of Logan.
Born June 15, 1937 in Union City, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Obie and Leoda (Ethridge) Denson.
Lela was a masker at Logan Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Logan. She read a lot of books and truly enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived by two sons, Shayne D. (Jeanette) Sadler of Lancaster, Ohio and Kenneth E. (Pennie) Spence of Logan; and four grandchildren, Benjamen, Tanner, Stephanie, and Selena.
Besides her parents, Lela was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Edwin “Ed” Spence (1995); four brothers, O.B., James A., Harold L., and George F. Denson; and one sister, Sarah E. Denson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio with Joshua N. Martin officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.
Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
