Martha Rittgers, aged 90 of Logan, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at The Springs at Wyandot Trail in Lancaster, Ohio.
Born August 19, 1935 in Gore, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Pearl J. Mohler and Lucille (Stephenson) Mohler.
During life, Martha worked as a residential cleaner at the Logan Moose Lodge and Roberts Funeral Home. She was also a member of Logan Amvets Post 1776. Martha loved to garden and was especially fond of growing flowers.
Martha is survived by her daughters, Shelia Rittgers of Durham, North Carolina and Teresa Rittgers (Russ) Geil of Lancaster, Ohio; bonus daughter, April Perry of Durham, North Carolina; long-time companion, Jack Nash; nephews, Ronald (Daphne) Thompson and Robert and Tony Snyder; grandson, Dustin (Jackie) Geil; stepgrandchildren, Michele (Jerry) Hughes and Chad (Jamie) Geil; great-grandchildren, Finley and Kase Geil; step-great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Hughes and Cole Geil; and six step-great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Allison “Alley Oop” Rittgers (2000); nieces, Rhonda Snyder and Tina Thompson; and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, and uncles.
A funeral service celebrated by Martha’s loving family will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio at 1 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Entombment will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good-Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM until time of service at the Roberts Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, Martha’s family suggests donations in her memory may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43216-2810.
