Mary Lee (Pace) England

Mary Lee England, age 86 of Logan, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Born May 6, 1936 in Quincy, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late George Gracie and Helen Beatrice (Bannon) Pace. She loved spending time with her parents and family at their beloved cottage on Silver Lake in Harrisville, New Hampshire.

Mary earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University and was a retired elementary teacher for Columbus Public Schools. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Logan and former longtime member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Columbus.

Mary Lee was a devoted wife and mother and loved all of her family. Mary was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and former volunteer for the Hocking Hills Welcome Center. Her love for nature and all creatures was evident by her beautiful gardens and many family pets throughout the years. Any stray that wandered up their driveway was guaranteed a loving home for life. This August will mark the 50th anniversary of owning their beloved family farm in Hocking County.

She is survived by four daughters, Pamela (Carl) Olson of Logan, Kathleen (Danielle) England of Haddonfield, New Jersey, Robbin (Bob) Koerner of Columbus, and Nancy (Dave) Henderson of Hemlock, Ohio; one son, Douglas (Susan) England of Amanda, Ohio; six grandchildren, Nicholas England, Alex (Ashley) England, Megan (Ben) Berghaus, Rachael Kinney, Jennifer Koerner, and Julia Koerner; three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Abigail and Sophia; three nephews, Timothy, Michael and George; and one niece, Ellen; her beloved dog, Ralphie; and cat, Freddy.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ned Robert England (2011); sister, Barbara (John) Henry; and her in-laws, Bob and Leona England.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Friday, July 29, 2022 at St. John Catholic Church in Logan with Fr. Stephen L. Krile officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio where a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m.
