Mildred Hattie Loomis, aged 105 of Union Furnace, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, following a brief illness, at her residence.
Born March 15, 1917 in Brown Township, Vinton Co., Ohio, she was the first-born daughter to the late Jay and Goldie Mae (Kennard) McDaniel.
Mildred had worked for the Logan-Hocking County Health Department. She retired after 25 years of service as a Postmistress with the Union Furnace Post Office. After retirement, she greatly enjoyed being a homemaker. Mildred was a member of the Union Furnace Methodist of Church.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Ann and Robert “Bob” L. Riggs of Union Furnace, Ohio; her earthly angel, Anna Reichling and her husband Miles; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews who she loved so dearly.
Besides her parents and husband, Carl Loomis, Mildred was preceded in death by two infant sons, three brothers and six sisters.
A Graveside service and special tribute to Mildred’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio with Reverend Dr. Randy E. Hardman officiating.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Roberts Funeral Home, 60 W. Hunter St., Logan, Ohio 43138.
