Nancy Sue Dougherty, age 87, of Logan, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 24, 2026 at her residence.
Born April 12, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Francis and Helen Lenore (Oiler) Spackey.
Nancy was a homemaker that not only raised her own children with her late husband, Ed, but also fostered several others. She was a member of Mount Tabor Christian Fellowship Church and supported foreign missions for many years. While living in Lakeland, Florida, she was a member of their chapter of Women’s Aglow, supporting ministries, shelters and the community. Nancy enjoyed bowling, cooking for her family and baking, in which she was known for her wedding and birthday cakes.
Nancy is survived by three daughters, Jacqualine Z. Dougherty, Pamela Crabtree and Lori L. Dougherty, all of Logan; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mike (Anita) Spackey and George McGrath, both of Logan; one sister, Joann Knox of Columbus, Ohio; and through years of friendship, she gained a son and daughter, Alain Saunders of Logan and Michelle Probasco of Lancaster, Ohio.
Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Dougherty (2007); three sons, Steven, Fredrick and John Dougherty; grandson, Joseph Crabtree; brothers, Dave, Jim and Tom Spackey; and sister, Dixie Stump.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026 in New Fairview Memorial Gardens- Good Hope Twp., Hocking Co., Ohio, officiated by Pastor Thomas Travis and Alain Saunders.
