Nellie Orene (Wilson) Harvey

Nellie Orene Harvey, aged 99 of Logan, Ohio, passed away at home on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Born July 3, 1925 in Falls Township, Hocking County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Litt and Margaret Laura Ann (Yantes) Wilson.

During life, Nellie worked for Godman Shoe Company, Logan Goodyear Company, and as a former nurse’s aide at the Logan Healthcare Center. She also served as a volunteer grandmother at the Logan Headstart Program for a number of years. Nellie was a proud member of Freedom Memorial Church of Christ in Christian Union where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Nellie is survived by her son, Russell Dean Harvey; daughter, Berdena Jean (Paul) Smart; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; brother, James E. Wilson; and sister, Ruth Ann Hawkins.

Besides her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Hobart Harvey; brothers, Harold, Roy, and Mervin Wilson; sisters, Velma Goss and Linda Byrd; and her great-great-granddaughter, Quinn Orene.

A funeral service officiated by Reverend Iris Conrad will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio at 11 AM on Monday, August 5, 2024. Burial will follow in Shaw Cemetery in Falls Township, Hocking County, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the Harvey family suggests donations in Nellie’s memory may be made to Freedom Memorial Church of Christ in Christian Union, 999 Church Street, Logan, OH 43138.
