Opal Geraldine (Stump) Nutter, aged 92 of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio.
Born January 27, 1931 in Perry Township, Hocking County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Merle Wayne and Mable Dorothy (Bailey) Stump Sr.
Opal was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for her husband’s company, Nutter Construction.
She is survived by her daughter, Erla Sue (Joseph M.) Buoni of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; son, Stephen Phillip Nutter of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; granddaughter, Jennifer (Larry) Buoni-Heath of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Reagan Heath, Landon Heath, and Elle Heath; sisters, Lavona I. Blankenship of Logan, Ohio, Joyce A. Frasure of Logan, Ohio, and Katherine L. Schrader of Logan, Ohio; and sisters-in-law, Angelika Stump, Ruth Stump, and Coletta Stump.
Besides her parents, Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Parley Phillip “Pete” Nutter (1998); her infant daughter, Opal Nutter (1955); her grandson, Jason “Jake” Buoni; her brothers, Merle Stump Jr., George Stump, and James Stump; and her sisters, Betty Yates and Helen Fiume.
A funeral service officiated by Reverend Andrew Smith will take place at the Roberts Funeral Home at 11 AM on Monday, September 25, 2023. Visitation will take place from 4-7 PM on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home.
Care for the Nutter family is being provided by Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio.
