Phyllis Guilimae (Biggs) Bigham-Monroe, age 87 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Altercare of Lanfair Center in Lancaster, Ohio.
Born May 10, 1934 in Green Twp., Hocking Co., Ohio, she was the youngest of seven children to the late Emery and Goldie Ethel (Sweazy) Biggs.
In Phyllis’ early years, she worked at Drew Shoe. In her later years, she worked for Lancaster Sales in Logan and retired after 15 years of service. During retirement, Phyllis worked for a few years cleaning the Columbia Gas building in Sugar Grove.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Cline of Jackson, Ohio and Goldie Bigham (Glen Kistler) of Lancaster, Ohio; one son, Robert Bigham Jr. of Jackson, Ohio; five grandchildren, Annette (Tom Evoe) Strickland of Jackson, Ohio, Angie (Jim) Rice of Middleport, Ohio, James (Kris) Cline Jr. of Oak Hill, Ohio, Alicia (Todd) Williams of Lancaster, Ohio and Joanna Bigham of Jackson, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Isaac Gibbs, Tori Davis and Kylah Williams; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Robert Wayne Bigham Sr., with whom she will be laid to rest; second husband of two years, Homer Monroe; brothers, Elsworth Emery and Marion “Frank” Franklin Biggs; sisters, Opal Hiles, Eudorla “Dottie” Andrews, Erma Bateman and Mary Duell; one son-in-law, James Cline Sr.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2021 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio with Joshua N. Martin officiating.
Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good-Hope Twp., Hocking County, Ohio.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
