Phyllis Arlene (Cozad) Poling

Phyllis Arlene Poling, aged 84 of Logan, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.  

Born March 2, 1938 in Greendale, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Robert and Tina Bell (Starr) Cozad.

Phyllis was salutatorian of the Carbon Hill High School Class of 1956 and after working for several years, she decided to stay home to raise her family. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Bengals fan on game day. Phyllis enjoyed watching game shows and playing cards, especially beating her grandchildren in her favorite card game, Phase 10. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Duane (Jeannie) Poling and Steven Michael (Jo) Poling, both of Logan; two daughters, Sherry Elaine Barr and Theresa Lynn Nelson, both of Logan; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Darlene (Ronald) Huffer of Kingston, Ohio; and her beloved dog, Gus.   

Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, James Russell Poling; brothers, James and Dwight Cozad; and grandson, Eric Nelson.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Knollwood Cemetery- Logan, Ohio, officiated by Pastor Iris Conrad.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday from 12:00- 1:45 PM at Roberts Funeral Home- Logan.
