Richard W. Dewey

Richard W. Dewey, aged 95 of Logan, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at his residence.  

Born February 16, 1927 in Athens, Ohio he was the son of the late Wade and Mary Louise (Holbert) Dewey.   

Richard retired from Marion Township where he worked as a road grader operator.

He is survived by one son, Kenneth W. Dewey and one daughter, Vicki Lynn Wright; nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; one sister, Judy Dewey of Columbus, Ohio.     

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Matthews Dewey (2019); daughter, Sharon Cordle; brothers, William (Bill) Dewey and Philip W. “Sunny” Dewey and two sisters, Mary Ellen Foster and Lena Bell Scott.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at South Harvey United Methodist Church Cemetery, Marion Twp., Hocking County, Ohio with Joshua N. Martin officiating.
