Shirley Rose Goss, 94 of Logan, Ohio, passed away, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Main Street Terrace Care Center in Lancaster, Ohio.
Born January 16, 1927 in Logan, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James Alva and Lelia Julia (Robey) Hutchison.
For 37 years, Shirley was a clerical office worker and proudly worked until the age of 89 for the Ohio Pump & Supply Company in Logan. She began her career as a beautician, graduating from Bustin Cosmetology College in Columbus, Ohio. For 20 years, Shirley worked for the former Sears Store on South Spring Street in Logan and served three years as a clerical clerk for the Logan School District Administration Office and the Logan St. Matthew Lutheran Church office. Shirley was a member of the former E.U.B. Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. She joined the church at the age of 12 and was an active member of the church choir, Ladies Aide Society, kitchen crew and Missionary Society. Shirley was a Den Mother for the Brownies, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and had been a 4-H Advisor for numerous years.
Shirley is survived by three nieces, Jenny Lynn Hutchison and Natalie Susan (Delbert) Lindsey Jr. both of Logan, Ohio and Kelley Jo (Steven) Doyle of Rockbridge, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Hutchison, Esther (Don) Ansel and Betty Goss; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Raymond Goss (1981); brother, Jerry J. Hutchison (2020); and brother-in-law, Jimmy Goss.
A funeral and celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 11, 2021 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio with Pastor Coy Lindsey and Pastor Eric Cooper officiating, special words by Nicholas Lindsey.
Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good-Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
