Stanton James “Jim” Palmer Sr. of Logan, Ohio passed away peacefully Friday, February 18, 2022 at his residence.

 

Born September 5, 1940 in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Stanton Joseph and Luretta Emily (McLin) Palmer.

 

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Logan. He spent over 20 years as manager of Hide-A-Way Hills and formerly worked for the Hocking County Auditors Office. Jim was a lifelong member of the NRA and his hobbies included fishing, gardening and woodworking.

 

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Janice Sylvana (Hoyt) Palmer; daughter, Jill Marie (Joe) McClurg of Lancaster, Ohio; three sons, Stanton James (Jill) Palmer Jr. of Rushville, Ohio, Michael Adam (Connie) Palmer of Stanley, North Carolina, and Matthew Charles (Lori) Palmer of Logan; two sisters, Betty Corby of Bowling Green, Ohio and Sarolin (Don) Griggs of Logan; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

 

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Mark Palmer; sister, Ardella King; and in-laws, Charles and Pauline Hoyt.

 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the family’s home, officiated by Pastor Danny Koch.
