Tim Miller Obituary

Chief Petty Officer Tim G. Miller {ret} aka August S. Brubaker, age 74 passed peacefully, Sunday March 26 at Fairfield Medical Center,  surrounded by family. Tim was born August 1, 1948 to the late George W. Miller and Martha L. Miller (Graves).

Survived by loving children, daughter LaLena (Lanie) Miller (Jeremy Nihiser) of Logan, son Eric C. Miller of Columbus. Twin brother Terry Miller, sisters Cindy (Gary) Schlaegel, and Mary Miller. Ex-Wife and long- time care giver, Yolanda Calvo. Special friends Gene and Patty Cain. Tim is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Proceeded in death by siblings Melinda Butler, Tami Miller, David Miller, and Tina Belmonte.

Tim served two tours in the Army during the Vietnam War, from 1966 -1968. The first tour as a combat photographer, the second in transportation.  After returning home from Vietnam, Tim followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the Navy in 1972. He first served as a photographer for the Navy times, having a few pictures making the cover. After a few years as a photographer, Tim changed careers within the Navy to a Recruiter until his retirement in 1982.  After retiring from the Navy, Tim took his artistic talents to a new level. Training under the awesome Tattoo Artist Marty Holcomb. Once completing his internship, he opened Tim’s Tattoo Studio in Whitehall, where he used his art as a tattoo artist for 20+ years. Also co-owning Tim and Connie’s Fineline Images in Westerville, for a couple of years.

During his 74 years, Tim was a great artist, always having a dark room for his photography. Painting and drawing using various mediums of art. He was also a bass player in an oldies rock n roll band alongside good friends, Roger, Bob, Jackie, and Bill.  Tim had an ornery personality that made everyone else adore him. He loved his music and often said he missed playing in the band. He may not have remembered what he had for lunch, but he would know every word to any old rock n roll song. He told everyone that he had “CRS”, ask about it. Tim was very proud of his service to our country and would tell anyone that would listen about his tours in Vietnam. He was loved by many and will be missed immensely.  Dad was a Valiant Solider until the end.
