Vernon Curtis Dixon, aged 78 of Logan, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan.
Born February 20, 1945 in Gore, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jack Dixon and Opal (Biggs) Dixon-Hiles.
Vernon retired from Ohio Pump and Supply in Logan, Ohio after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Logan Eagles and Moose. When Vernon wasn’t spending time with his beloved family, he enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and vacationing. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Karen Rae (Thorpe) Dixon; two brothers, Dennis (Rose) Hiles of Logan and David (Jackie) Hiles of Canal Winchester, Ohio; one sister, Sherry Blosser of Union Furnace, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Denise Blackstone, Danielle Disbennett, Hannah Bunthoff, Scott and Teresa Bunthoff; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steve and Valerie Thorpe and Jan Bunthoff.
Besides his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Sheets, Bonnie Sheets, Shirley Hinerman and Judy Horn-Wood; brother, Jack Dixon; niece, Tina Ann Hiles; brothers-in-law, Mark Allen Hartman and Ronald Clayton Bunthoff.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Roberts Funeral Home, 60 W. Hunter St., Logan, Ohio 43138 with Pastor Timothy Poling officiating.
Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good-Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio.
Friends may call Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
