Wilbur Fuller Obituary

Wilbur J. Fuller, aged 100 of Logan, Ohio, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

Born December 2, 1925 in Vinton County, he was the son of the late William Fuller and the late Maggie Largent Fuller (William) Nahm.

Wilbur was a World War II veteran and enjoyed sharing many stories in great detail from his time serving in the Army 10th Mountain Division stationed in Italy. Following his service, Wilbur worked for 22 years as a manager for City Loan and Savings in several locations throughout Southeast Ohio. In 1969, he started his own mobile home business and operated it until his retirement in 1986.

Wilbur spent a lifetime helping others, whether family, friends, or acquaintances. He knew how to fix just about anything and continued doing projects well into his old age. Even though he was no longer physically able to do the work, his mind was still extremely sharp, and he continued to explain and teach how to do things the right way. He always gave good advice no matter what the subject and always told the truth. Until his last day he was making sure that everyone he loved would be alright after he was gone.

Wilbur was an avid hunter and loved spending time in the woods with friends and several generations of family members over the years.

Wilbur was a Christian who placed his faith and trust in God. He attended Logan Vineyard Church. In his last few hours, when his strength was gone, his breathing labored and his voice barely audible, he spent his time praying individually for all his family members and when he finished praying for each person, his voice got stronger and louder as he told God, “Thank You!”

After his 100th Birthday, Wilbur was visited at home and recognized by a current Congressman, State Representative, and a Representative from Ohio Veterans First. He also received a congratulatory letter from the White House. He said he never thought he would live so long but the Good Lord blessed him, and all of his friends and especially family know that we were the ones that were blessed.

Wilbur is survived by his loving wife Pauleta Chapman Fuller, and would have celebrated their 73rd anniversary on May 11th; sons, William A. (Jo) Fuller and Richard P. (Bev) Fuller; daughters, Brenda K. (Mark) Rowe and Rhonda S. (Ty) Watkins; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and stepfather, Wilbur was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence, Floyd, Elmer, Ralph, and John Fuller; and three sisters, Etta Lanning, Edna Dain, and Mary Schooley.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Jim Lambert will be held at 1 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio on Friday, May 8, 2026. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery in Starr Township, Hocking County, Ohio, where military honors will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
