William Wesley “Willie” Coakley, aged 68 of Amanda, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Born September 15, 1957 in Nelsonville, Ohio, he was the son of Julia Pearl (Berry) Coakley and the late Charles Wesley Coakley.
Willie previously worked in maintenance for the Hocking Hills State Parks for 32 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tracing his family’s ancestry. Willie also took great pride in his lawncare and his “baby”, his 1978 Chevy truck. He has also spent many years collecting over 300 Christmas blow molds. Most of all, Willie loved spending time with his loving wife and family.
Willie is survived by his wife of 34 years, Deborah Kay (Lines) Coakley; daughter, Marti (Jesse) Knight of Adelphi, Ohio; stepson, Josh Sunday of Chillicothe, Ohio; three wonderful grandkids, Blake and Jayden Knight and Ember Cook; three brothers, George Coakley of Nelsonville, Ohio, Robert (Tamii) Coakley of Logan, Ohio, and Charles Coakley of Delaware, Ohio; five sisters, Connie (James) McGomery of Nelsonville, Norma Cameron of Columbus, Ohio, Julia (Lee) Tucker of Nelsonville, Ohio, Sharon (Mike) Weaver of Wabash, Indiana, and Cindy (Mark) Denoyer of Oregon; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Macho.
Besides his father, Willie was preceded in death by two sisters, Cheryl Jean Kuhn and Carol Turner.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio.
Burial will follow in Shaw Cemetery in Logan.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, March 13, 2026 at the funeral home.
