William "Bill" Wilson Keynes, age 85 of Logan, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the Carlin House in Logan, Ohio.
Born March 5, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert William and Lucille Mae (Hartley) Keynes.
Bill was a 1954 graduate of Logan High School and a 1958 graduate of The Ohio State University where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He was a fourth-generation president of the former Keynes Brothers Inc., Logan, Ohio; president of Kachelmacher Foundation Trustees; former member of Bank Ohio Board of Directors; former member of AAA Board of Directors for Southern Ohio; and a former member of the Bowen House Board of Directors. He was awarded the Logan Hocking Chamber of Commerce "Small Businessperson of the Year" in 1987; and was named the Hocking County 1987 SEORC "Person of the Year".
He is survived by two sons, Charles Henry Keynes and William Wilshire Keynes, both of Logan, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kirsten Amber Mae, Graham Wilken, and Parker William Keynes, all of Logan; three great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Charlotte, and Eli Polk; stepdaughter, Reverend Elizabeth (Dean) Polk-Byers of Goldsboro, North Carolina; and two step grandsons, Jonathan (Jessica) Polk of Buxton, North Carolina and Stephen (Andrea) Polk of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Shumate) Keynes (2020) and one brother, Robert William Keynes II (1973).
A Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan with Father Seth T. Wymer, Deacon Paul Scanlan, and Reverend Elizabeth Polk-Byers officiating.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
A private burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan, Ohio.
The family suggests that contributions may be made in Bill's name to Heartland Hospice, 116 Morris Rd., Suite B, Circleville, Ohio 43113.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Carlin House for all of the wonderful care given to Bill.
